“Evil Urges” is the fifth studio album by the American rock band My Morning Jacket, released on June 10, 2008. The album represents a departure from the band’s earlier sound, incorporating elements of funk, soul, and R&B alongside their signature blend of rock and Americana.

“Evil Urges” features a diverse range of tracks, showcasing My Morning Jacket’s versatility and musical experimentation. The album opens with the title track, “Evil Urges,” a funky and propulsive song that sets the tone for the rest of the record. Other standout tracks include the soulful ballad “Touch Me I’m Going to Scream Pt. 2,” the psychedelic rock of “Highly Suspicious,” and the dreamy “I’m Amazed.”

Lyrically, “Evil Urges” explores themes of love, desire, and self-discovery, with frontman Jim James delivering introspective and emotive vocals throughout the album. The band’s tight musicianship and lush production contribute to the album’s rich and immersive soundscapes.
