Rudimentary Peni’s ‘Great War’ on vinyl is a seminal post-punk album, blending elements of punk rock, gothic rock, and art rock. Released in 1983, the album showcases the band’s unique sound and powerful lyrical content. Featuring tracks like ‘The Gardener’ and ‘Dutchmen,’ the album delves into themes of war, mental illness, and the human condition. Rudimentary Peni’s distinct style, led by vocalist/guitarist Nick Blinko, sets them apart as one of the most influential bands in the punk scene. ‘Great War’ is a must-have for fans of alternative music looking to explore the darker side of punk rock.
